The 2027–2028 programme covers round-trip airfare, a private room in the centre's residential apartments (with shared kitchen, bathroom and living room), workspace, material costs, a project team and promotion of the work. Its distinctive part is the «Super Agent» system: each resident is paired with an ordinary city resident recruited as a local contact, who provides daily, unmediated access to the place — a faster route into the community than any institutional tour. Around that sit curatorial support, lectures, workshops, the centre's resource library and public platforms for showing the work. The setting is the fast-changing southern edge of Chengdu, where the residency's themes — local and global, history and abrupt modernisation, community practice in China — come from.

Open to creators from all fields and any country — not only artists but scientists, writers, poets, scholars, musicians, architects, designers and other practitioners. Participants are chosen from submitted applications for eight-week cycles running from autumn 2027 through autumn 2028; the length can be adjusted to the project. Residents are expected to engage with the community and the city rather than work in isolation.
