Connector for Claude

CallOpen in Claude

Ask Claude about residencies, grants, prizes and exhibition calls, and it answers from CallOpen's curated catalogue, where every call is checked against the organiser's own page. Sign in and it knows your profile, keeps your tracker, prepares your applications and compares your works with what each call is looking for.

What it is

The connector puts CallOpen inside Claude. When you ask about open calls, Claude looks them up in our catalogue instead of guessing: what each call gives, who can apply, what to send, the fee, the dates, the organiser's exact words and how many people applied in past years.

With your CallOpen account, Claude also works with what is yours: your profile, your tracker, your application plans and your Call Match. Everything it changes is the same as on the site — the same tracker, the same reminders, the same plans — so you can start in the chat and finish on callopen.art, or the other way round.

Ask, for example

  • «Find paid residencies for ceramicists with a deadline before February»
  • «Which open calls take sound art and have no entry fee?»
  • «I'm from Ukraine and live in Berlin — which grants can I apply to now?»
  • «Read this call with me and tell me what they really want»
  • «Who won this prize last year and how many people applied?»
  • «Go through my tracker and set aside everything I'm not eligible for»
  • «Prepare my application to the residency in Fontevraud»
  • «Open my Call Match, only free calls with a deadline before spring»

What it does

Six parts, the same as on the site. The catalogue, organisers and results are open to everyone; the rest is yours once you sign in.

The catalogue

No account needed

Claude searches open calls by practice, country, money, fee and deadline, in any language, and reads a call in full before it answers.

  • filters for who can apply: your citizenship or where you live, your practice, career stage, no entry fee, who pays, the smallest award
  • a call in full: what it gives, who can apply, what to send, dates, money, with the organiser's own words kept apart from ours
  • for a call that has closed — its next edition and similar calls
  • answers as CallOpen cards in the chat: cover, deadline, award, fee, with «Save» and «Open»

Say: «Find residencies for painters in Europe with travel paid, deadline within two months»

Profile and fit

With your CallOpen account

Claude reads your profile the way the fit check reads it and checks calls against it — what stops you, what to confirm, how well it fits.

  • the fit check for up to 30 calls at once: blockers and caveats in the organiser's words, the fee, a score out of 100
  • what your profile contradicts or leaves empty, the facts calls check: where you live, citizenship, year of birth, languages
  • corrections in words: «I moved to Lisbon», «add Portuguese», «rewrite my bio» — saved to your profile
  • your profile as a window: facts, practice, texts, CV, portfolio, letters — edited in place

Say: «Check my profile and tell me what calls would stumble over»

Tracker

With your CallOpen account

Your saved calls with their stages, reminders and notes — the same tracker as on the site, kept from the chat.

  • save, move between stages and remove up to 200 calls in one request
  • the tracker window: cards, list, calendar, board and plans; stages, switches and search
  • a call's window: the day you will apply, the application kit with ticks, notes, the call in full, Apply and «Did you apply?»
  • deadline reminders by email, the same as for calls saved on the site; calendar export (.ics)
  • «Planned» is the stage of calls with an application plan — Claude moves a call there by writing its plan

Say: «Show my tracker as a calendar and tell me what is due in the next three weeks»

Application plans

With your CallOpen account

For any call in your tracker, Claude prepares the application: it reads the organiser's pages and PDFs again, your works and your profile, and writes a plan you work through day by day.

  • the verdict — apply, apply if…, or weigh it first — with the reasons in the organiser's words
  • the rules that decide, each with its quote and source; quotes are checked word for word against the organiser's texts
  • the days to the deadline, «Now» — the next step, and what the plan needs only you to know
  • the texts — statement, proposal, bio, letter — in the call's language, counted against its limit, with gaps where a fact is missing instead of invented ones
  • the plan is kept in your tracker and opens on the site too; the call moves to «Planned»

Say: «Prepare my application to this call — I want to show the textile series»

Call Match

With your CallOpen account

Your works against the brief of every open call: Claude reads the works and judges the briefs in the chat by CallOpen's rules, and you swipe the selection in a window.

  • works from your portfolio or pictures attached to the chat: photos and scans (JPEG, PNG, WebP) and texts
  • each card says what the call is looking for, in its own words, and which of your works answers it
  • «Want», «Maybe» and «Not for me» go straight to your tracker; a match asks the day you will apply
  • after a pass Claude tells you which calls to apply to first, with which work and what to prepare
  • Call Match opens by invitation: if you do not have it yet, the window lets you join the waitlist

Say: «Open my Call Match with my last three works, only calls without a fee»

Organisers and results

No account needed

Who runs a call and how it went before — so you know the odds and the taste of the jury.

  • organisers with their open and past calls, the months their deadlines fall in, the practices they take
  • results of past editions: who was selected at each stage, from where, for what work; how many applied for a place
  • both as windows with cards that open in full

Say: «Who ran this residency before, and who did they select last year?»

Windows in the conversation

When a picture says more than text, Claude answers with a CallOpen window right in the chat — in the site's look, in light and dark, on the phone too. It opens full screen with one button.

  • Call cards

Up to eight calls side by side: cover, deadline, award, fee, «Save» and «Open».

  • Call Match

Your works, the reading, the selection to swipe, the match screen with the day and the kit.

  • Tracker

Cards, list, calendar, board and plans; a call's window with its day, kit and notes.

  • Application plan

The cover, the days, «Now», the texts with their limit and gaps, the rules with quotes.

  • Profile

Facts, practice, texts, CV, portfolio and letters — edited in place.

  • Organisers and results

An organiser's page with its calls and history; an edition with its stages and jury.

  • Change things where it is easier: in the window with a click, or in words in the chat — the window notices the change by itself.
  • Every window has «Ask Claude»: about this call, this text, this plan — Claude answers in the same conversation.
  • Everything a window shows is drawn inside the chat: nothing loads from other sites.

How to connect

By invitation

CallOpen in Claude opens step by step

We are opening it gradually — first to the people on the waitlist. Join it, and we will write to you when Claude can connect to your CallOpen account.

The steps below work once it opens for you.

  1. In Claude (web or desktop), open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector — or use this prefilled link
  2. Name it CallOpen and paste the server address:
    https://callopen.art/mcp
  3. Add it. Search works at once; the first time Claude needs your profile or tracker, it shows a Connect button — sign in with Google or by email link and press Allow.
  4. In a chat, turn the connector on (+ menu → Connectors) and ask. Added on the web, it works in the Claude mobile apps too.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; on the free plan you can add one. In Team and Enterprise the owner adds it for the whole organisation.

Claude Code

In Claude Code, add it from the terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http callopen https://callopen.art/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in when Claude needs your profile or tracker.

Other assistants

It is a standard remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in: ChatGPT and other assistants that support such connectors connect at the same address. The windows appear where the assistant supports MCP Apps.

Settings and control

  • In your CallOpen profile → Settings → Claude: whether Claude may change your profile, and your tracker and plans, by itself. Switched off, it can still read and suggest, and your own clicks in the windows still work.
  • In Claude → Settings → Connectors → CallOpen: which actions need your approval each time.
  • Each sign-in is listed in your profile with the app and the last use; Disconnect ends it at once.
  • Removing the connector in Claude ends it too; to use it again, add it and sign in again.
Open the settings

What it never does

  • does not apply or write to organisers for you
  • does not take payments or ask for card details
  • does not read your conversations with Claude — it gets only what Claude asks it
  • does not pass on other people's data: the contacts of artists and organisers stay closed
  • does not see your password or your Google sign-in

We record each request — which tool, when, how long it took, whether it worked — without the text of your questions. You can disconnect at any time: Profile → Settings → Claude. Privacy policy

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. The connector and the catalogue are free, as on the site. Claude's own usage counts toward your Claude plan.
Do I need a CallOpen account?
Not for searching and reading. For the profile, tracker, plans, fit check, Call Match and application links, sign in — the same free account as on the site.
Does CallOpen see my chats?
No. Claude decides when to call CallOpen and passes only the request itself, for example a search; the conversation stays with Claude.
Are plans written in Claude limited like on the site?
No. On the site CallOpen writes up to three plans a day for you; a plan written by your Claude through the connector has no such limit — only Claude's own.
Which files can Claude read for Call Match?
Photos and scans (JPEG, PNG, WebP) and texts. PDF portfolios, audio and video — add them on callopen.art, where they are read too.
How do I disconnect?
In your CallOpen profile: Settings → Claude → Disconnect; or remove the connector in Claude. Access ends at once.
Why does Claude sometimes answer without it?
Claude chooses when to call the connector. Say «look in CallOpen» or pick a CallOpen command from the + menu.
Does it work in ChatGPT and other assistants?
It is a standard MCP server: any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors with OAuth can connect at the same address.
