Research grant of 5,000 euros per residency. A two-week residency in Wuppertal or Essen at the festival partners, for one to a maximum of two persons, with use of the venue's spaces and technical equipment subject to availability, plus dramaturgical advice and organisational support. Coverage of travel costs calculated in accordance with the NRW State Travel Expenses Act (2nd class train travel, Economy Class flights, etc.). Coverage of accommodation costs during the two-week residency and support with accommodation during the festival period. A documentation and material budget upon agreement. There is an exchange format and, where applicable, a public conversation. The PDF states there are no stage performances. One NRW artist and one international artist share a studio.

The open call is for two groups in dance, choreography and performance. CALL 1: Emerging Artists from NRW: graduates of dance and art universities and/or newcomers to the professional dance scene with their work and life base in NRW. Those applicants should have already realised one to two artistic projects, and their own graduation, however, should not have been more than three years ago. CALL 2: International choreographers and dance artists based abroad. They have their place of residence and main area of work outside Germany and should demonstrate a concrete connection to NRW in their research plans. An application is for one or a maximum of two persons. Applicants undertake to be personally present on site throughout the entire residency period and to participate in the festival.
