Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park Artist Residency, October 2027 — $4,000 Stipend and a House near the Park
National Parks Arts Foundation
The National Parks Arts Foundation, a non-profit, runs artist-in-residence programmes in US national parks and monuments. At Hawaiʻi Volcanoes — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the active volcanoes Kīlauea and Mauna Loa, lava flows and rainforest — residents interpret the park in any medium; selection is by a panel of arts professionals that changes for every call.

A residency of 6–31 October 2027 with a $4,000 stipend (paid after the residency against receipts), free housing in a three-bedroom house just outside the park near the beaches, a studio, an electronic baby grand piano and a sound-recording booth, a public event or workshop at the park, and publicity. A work may be considered for donation to the National Park Service collection.

Open to national and international artists, writers, musicians and performance artists in any medium, digital or analogue — single artists, couples, families, collectives or troupes. International artists must arrange the required permits and visa (NPAF connects them with the NPS International Office). Residents need their own transport; a vehicle is strongly recommended. Site-specific work with changes to the landscape is usually not permitted.
