cheLA occupies a former factory in Buenos Aires and runs its residency with Fundación exACTa. The scale is the point: studios from 300 to 500 m², assigned according to what the project needs, which makes it one of the few residencies able to host large installation, sound and performance work. The monthly fee covers a single or double room in a shared apartment, shared workspace, a basic set of tools and equipment agreed in advance, and limited technical and artistic guidance. Two equipped workshops — TaPeTe for sound and TaMaCo for materials — are available with dedicated technical support for an additional fee. Letters of recommendation are written for residents applying for grants elsewhere. A one-month stay is recommended, though the length is flexible.

Open to artists, designers, researchers and anyone working with creative processes, in any discipline. Priority goes to proposals built on reflection, research and experimentation, to work that promotes exchange between residents and connects with cheLA's working nodes, and to projects exploring movement, sound, site-specific practice or collective and community creation. Needs and conditions are agreed before arrival to check feasibility.
