Great Basin National Park
Great Basin National Park in eastern Nevada runs its artist-in-residence programme with support from the Great Basin National Park Foundation. Three artists are chosen from this call for 2027, one for each season; jury panels include past residents, subject experts, local community members and park staff.

Three residencies of two to three weeks in 2027: winter (January–February) with a furnished private bedroom in shared park housing, and summer (July–August) and fall (September–October) as camping residencies with most camping gear provided and a campsite of the artist's choice. The park offers wilderness solitude, dark-sky stargazing, Wheeler Peak, Lehman Caves and ancient bristlecone pines. Residents give one in-park and one virtual program, provide a digital portfolio and donate one piece to the Great Basin National Park Foundation.

The park encourages anybody who considers themselves an artist to apply — visual and literary artists, musicians and other media; past residents include painters, illustrators, composers, poets, architects, sculptors and metal workers. Selected artists become NPS volunteers and follow park rules; residencies with NPS housing require a background check. The park is very remote and a vehicle is absolutely necessary. Selection is by a jury on merit and understanding of the park's mission.
