Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, a museum in Murfreesboro, invites an artist to create a culminating installation with participatory workshops and demonstrations for young visitors. The panel of museum staff, community members and arts professionals scores artistic merit, experience with children and the project's connection to community, culture or family.

One six-week residency, 16 January – 27 February 2027, at the museum: a $2,000 stipend for artist time and installation supplies, access to an indoor studio and museum facilities, museum supplies and up to $400 for workshop materials, and the chance to exhibit. The artist works four hours a week (three in open studio, one leading a hands-on workshop for visitors) and donates one finished piece to the museum's permanent collection.

For Tennessee artists; local and regional artists are encouraged. Open to all visual and multidisciplinary artists enthusiastic about social engagement and sharing their work with children. All artists must clear a background check. The museum does not provide housing or transportation.
