A Banff Centre digital arts intensive at the meeting point of performance, creature work and visual effects. Participants learn the creative and technical workflows that connect puppeteers and actors with VFX pipelines on feature film and television sets, and make original screen work in a professional studio.

An advanced two-week intensive (10–21 May 2027) led by Derek Arnold, animatronic and performance choreographer for Lucasfilm UK (Andor, Rogue One, Project Hail Mary), with a senior VFX professional: rod, wire and practical puppetry for screen, performing with digital characters, previsualisation and green-screen workflows in Banff Centre's 2,500-square-foot green-screen studio, ending in original screen content. The Banff Centre Arts Scholarship covers tuition and part of room and meals.

For early and mid-career actors, performers, puppeteers and VFX artists who already have foundational experience in film, television, animation, games, immersive media, live performance or related industries; it is not introductory training. Participants must attend the full program. Applicants must be 18+ at the time of the program start date; domestic and international applications are welcome.
