Euroatlas occupies a former sea-transport office and warehouse by the harbour in Beato-Marvila, the district Lisbon's art scene has been moving into. The residency is a 7 × 6 metre self-contained living and working space on the second floor, with its own kitchenette, bathroom and 24-hour wifi, in a building shared with a studio used by Portuguese artists — one international artist at a time, alongside a local one. Two formats exist: an independent residency based solely at Euroatlas, and one run in partnership with the Hangar art research centre that adds curatorial support, an open day and the chance to take part in artist talks, workshops and open studios there. The programme is non-prescriptive and aimed at mature artists: process over outcome, with no obligation to produce.

Open to emerging and established visual artists, and to researchers, writers, musicians, curators and cultural programmers who are self-sufficient in their research. The residency takes one international artist at a time for one to six months. Applications go by email with a CV of up to 700 words, a project proposal, a statement of up to 250 words and a portfolio in a single PDF. No financial support is available, but the residency will help with grant applications at home.
