The Joseph Binder Award is Austria's international competition for graphic design and illustration, run biennially by designaustria since 1996, and the 2027 edition takes «Under Pressure» as its theme — the strain the creative industry is currently working under. Nominated work is recognised as Honored Designer or Honored Illustrator, shown at the Joseph Binder Days on 28–29 April 2027 at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, and carried on into a touring exhibition and the English-language catalogue, with two free copies per published entry. Design Fiction, a category for unpublished and speculative projects, is open again this edition and exempt from the catalogue production fee.

Thirteen categories: eight in graphic design (corporate, communication, information, type, poster, editorial, packaging and interface design) and five in illustration (book, media, commercial, animated and miscellaneous), plus Design Fiction for unpublished work and the Henry Steiner Prize.
