Funding for the development, creation and delivery of high-quality arts experiences that connect with the public: creation of work for presentation, programming, presenting and touring, and participation and community engagement. Large awards of £10,001–60,000 (up to 90% of eligible costs) at set deadlines; small awards up to £10,000 have no deadline (apply ten working weeks ahead). Proposals must support one or more of the Council’s priorities — creativity, equalities and engagement, Welsh language, climate justice, developing talent, transformation — and pay freelancers appropriately.

Individuals and organisations meeting the Arts Council of Wales eligibility criteria, in the art forms it supports; projects must take place mainly in Wales (activity abroad only with longer-term benefit to Wales), be time-limited, new, involve at least one partner (organisation, collaborator, critical friend, mentor or community group) and have at least 10% of income from non-Arts Council/Lottery sources. Individuals developing their own practice rather than making work should use Creative Practice.
