At least ten short performances are selected. Each receives a fee of €500–€1,100 (VAT included, scaled by cast size) and a travel contribution of up to €250. The prize fund: Best Performance €1,200; 'Sandra Bressan' Research Fund €1,800; Best Dramaturgy €500; Best Direction €500; Best Performer €500; Scholars' & Critics' Award €500; 'Valentina Nicosia' Fund €500; Youth Jury Award €300. Selected companies perform in front of roughly thirty programmers, festival and theatre directors, dance network coordinators, residency centres, critics and scholars sitting on two panels — alongside a Youth Jury, a Citizens' Jury and audience voting. Beyond the cash prizes, network members award artist residencies and touring opportunities within their own festivals and programmes. The festival is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Sicilian Region, under the honorary patronage of the National Centre for Italian Contemporary Dramaturgy and the University of Messina. An online information session in English runs on 22 September 2026 at 19:30 CEST.
