The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) organises the biennial Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, now in their 20th edition, recognise practitioners and organisations across the local arts scene.

One Artist of the Year award per art form across nine disciplines: arts criticism, dance, drama, film, media arts, literary arts, music, visual arts and xiqu (Chinese opera); each awardee receives HK$100,000 for creative work, arts projects or further studies, with a brief report to HKADC within a year. The Awards also include Life Achievement and Outstanding Contribution awards (by Council nomination) and awards for arts education and sponsorship.
