IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's international programme for visual and applied artists, holds a studio at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin — a studio programme and project workshop for international contemporary art with 25 studios — for a Sweden-based artist each year.

publicSeo.openCall.benefits

A five-and-a-half-month stay with a 55 m² studio and access to workshops at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, a 74 m² furnished apartment on Paul-Lincke-Ufer leased by IASPIS (room for two, no pets), and a tax-free grant of SEK 130,000 for travel, living and some material costs. The Visual Artists' Fund shortlists 3–5 candidates and Bethanien's management makes a first and second choice.

publicSeo.openCall.eligibility

Professional artists in the visual arts or design — for example visual art, photography, design, crafts, illustration, textile art or architecture — who earn a living entirely or partly from their art and regularly present it. You must be a resident in Sweden or practice most of your art here; foreign citizens may apply on the same terms. You must not be a student for more than 50 per cent when the decision is made, and must have no debts with the Swedish Enforcement Authority or de minimis aid above €300,000 in three years. A duo or group submits one application naming the other artists and shares the grant.
