Eyebeam, founded in 1998 in New York, is a non-profit that has supported over 550 artists working with technology through residencies, fellowships and public programmes. Applications are scored by an external jury of staff, industry professionals and alumni with a standard rubric.

A 12-week residency for six NYC artists on the year's theme AGENCY — how human, collective and more-than-human agency holds up as AI systems act and decide on our behalf. Each resident receives a $5,000 stipend, weekly cohort sessions, mentorship with Eyebeam alumni and visiting professionals, technical consultation, a public open studio midway, a closing process presentation and a contribution to an end-of-year publication. Commitment: at least 8 hours a week in person at Eyebeam. Suited to projects with a clear direction that need studio time, critique and production support.

Individual artists living in New York City (five boroughs), able to work on site at Eyebeam at least one day a week for the full term. Collectives and teams are not eligible this cycle; no full-time degree students (part-time students welcome); no concurrent residency. Projects may engage AI directly but do not have to.
