The Austrian federal arts ministry (BMWKMS) awards Startstipendien each year to professional artists at the beginning of their careers, in several fields; applications are accepted for one field only.
Benefits
Each grant is €9,000 for six months, to be taken in 2027, for work on the new project described in the application; single parents and/or parents receiving increased family allowance get €200 or €400 more per month. Professional freelance artists who hold Austrian citizenship or have their permanent residence in Austria at the time of applying and during the grant, born after 31 December 1991 (one year later if training was delayed by starting a family, childcare or serious illness).
