Selected films compete for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in three categories (fiction, animation, documentary), the Best Dutch Short award, the New Arrivals Award and the Audience Award at the 19th Go Short, 6–11 April 2027. Go Short is recognised by the Academy Awards, the European Film Awards and BAFTA, and New Arrivals by the Student Academy Awards.

European Competition: short fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films made in (geographical) Europe. Dutch Competition: films made in the Netherlands. New Arrivals Competition: shorts made at European film schools. The festival also takes video games, VR/XR, performances, installations and music videos. The full requirements are in the regulations.
