Lemgo Young Art Stipend 2027/28 — A Year in a Studio House, €1,000 a Month and a Solo Show, for Artists up to 35

The Old Hanseatic Town of Lemgo, with support from the STAFF STIFTUNG Lemgo, awards its Young Art stipend every year through a competition. The 2026/27 holder is Vafa Aminikia.

A rent-free studio flat from 1 May 2027 to 30 April 2028 and a monthly living allowance of €1,000; residence in Lemgo is required. At the end the stipend holder shows a solo exhibition on 160 m² in the Städtische Galerie Eichenmüllerhaus and gives one work made in Lemgo to the funders. A jury shortlists three applicants in November/December; in January they show originals in a two-week competition exhibition in Lemgo, and the winner is announced at its opening — the two others each receive a recognition fee.

Visual artists resident in Germany, not older than 35 when the stipend begins, with a completed degree from an art academy, who are willing to live and work in Lemgo for a year (1 May – 30 April).
