Arts Council Norway's pre-project scheme gives performing artists research and development time — new choreography, stage writing, scenography or methods — separate from any production, typically with up to NOK 100,000.

Normally up to NOK 100,000 — or up to NOK 200,000 with special need, for example many participants — to develop an artistic concept or idea, explore aspects of one's artistry or new methods: new stage text, new choreography, scenography and stage devices, techniques, or testing concepts. Work-in-progress showings are normally not included.

Professional performing artists working alone or with others on an artistic exploration process that takes place before or independently of any production and is a self-contained, limited project. Not for dramatisations, film scripts or translations, or courses and other training.
