The BC Arts Council, the Province of British Columbia's arm's-length arts funder, launched the Indigenous Arts Program Pilot with separate streams for individuals/groups and for Indigenous-led organizations and collectives.

A pilot programme developed with the Joint Indigenous Arts Advisory Circle to reduce barriers for Indigenous applicants and support traditional, contemporary, interdisciplinary, experimental and community-engaged practice. Microgrants up to CA$5,000 (non-peer, streamlined review prioritising small requests and first-time applicants) for small, emerging or time-sensitive activities and professional development; mid-scale grants CA$5,001–15,000 for creation, production, presentation and collaborations; large-scale grants CA$15,001–25,000 for complex or multi-phase initiatives. Eligible costs include artist and mentor fees, subsistence up to CA$750 a week, cultural protocols, materials, equipment up to CA$2,500, travel, rentals and childcare.

B.C.-based Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) artists, arts and culture workers, Knowledge Keepers/Holders and Culture Carriers/Practitioners, individually or for an ad hoc group or collaboration; Canadian citizens or permanent residents who ordinarily reside in B.C. and have lived in the province for at least 12 consecutive months before the deadline; aged 19 or older; holding artistic authority over the project. One application per intake, in one category.
