The City of Grand Junction and its Commission on Arts and Culture commission public art through the city's 1% for the Arts programme. This call seeks work that responds to a greenhouse — plants, nature, growth, community — as part of a potential botanical campus in Western Colorado.

A commission of up to $2,000 (design fee, travel, materials, fabrication, insurance, documentation, transport and installation included) for original artwork in Greenhouse #2 of the planned High Desert Botanical Campus near the Colorado Riverfront Trail. Sculpture, installation, suspended, wall-based, functional or mixed-media work is welcome. Artists are notified 29–30 October; installation by 31 December 2026.

Open to all artists aged 21 and over nationally; preference points may be given to local Colorado artists. Artists must show images of original works similar in size and theme and provide references. The artwork must be original, durable, low-maintenance and safe for long-term public display in a greenhouse setting.
