SACO1.3 «El trópico de la llama» — International Open Call for the Antofagasta Biennial Pier Exhibition, Chile 2027
Corporación Cultural SACO
SACO, the contemporary art biennial of Antofagasta in Chile's Atacama region, invites artists worldwide to propose works for its open-air pier exhibition. The 13th edition, «El trópico de la llama», reflects on how South American territories and social structures were shaped by models imposed from the Global North.

An international jury selects seven projects for the main exhibition of the 13th SACO Contemporary Art Biennial on the Melbourne Clark Historic Pier, mid-October to November 2027. Selected artists get about 10 days of production residency at ISLA (Instituto Superior Latinoamericano de Arte) in Antofagasta to make and install the work, take part in the opening and official activities, and join a contextual trip to the Atacama Desert.
