Up to CA$18,000 (up to 100% of eligible expenses) for a specific theatre and performance art project by an individual Alberta artist, arts administrator or ensemble — art production (creation, presentation, residencies), marketing, research, or training and career development (courses, workshops, master classes, retreats, mentorships). Eligible expenses include artist and technician fees, production and materials, promotion, transportation and accommodation, tuition and royalties, plus basic living/subsistence expenses up to CA$3,000 per month. Two deadlines a year (1 September and 1 March); one application per AFA deadline across all disciplines.

Alberta residents: Canadian citizens, permanent residents or Protected Persons with primary residence in Alberta for at least one full year who ordinarily live there six months a year; collaborating artists, ensembles and collectives if all co-owners are eligible (not incorporated). Applicants must be in good standing with the AFA with no outstanding reports.
