CALQ Art, Architecture and Environment Research Residency at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, Paris — CA$8,000, Housing and up to €5,000 Production

A two-month research and experimentation residency in April–May 2027 at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal, the centre for architecture and urban planning of Paris and its metropolis, with eight weeks’ housing at the Centre des Récollets and a CA$8,000 CALQ grant for international travel, insurance, living and research costs. The Arsenal team provides professional support and access to its artistic, architectural and institutional network (meetings, visits, introductions), and may contribute up to €5,000 to production, prototyping or presentation. Projects should address ecological transformation of living environments — habitat, built forms, resources, materials, commons, landscapes — in urban, peri-urban or rural contexts. In return a French artist is hosted by the Fondation Grantham in Québec.

Québec artists and architects with at least two years of professional practice in visual arts or architectural research, proposing research or experimentation at the crossroads of art, architecture and environment. Professional artists (CALQ definition: self-declared, paid practice, peer recognition, public presentation in peer-recognised contexts) who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, ordinarily reside in Québec and have lived there for the past 12 months; Inuit and First Nations artists residing in Québec are eligible. Incorporated groups and projects already completed are not eligible.
