The SURF AiR program provides opportunities for artists to create work inspired by the Sanford Underground Research Facility, which is set in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. The Compact Accelerator System for Performing Astrophysical Research (CASPAR) recreates conditions inside stars to study how elements are made.
