CallOpen turns the year’s open calls into your plan: where to apply, by when and how — from the organisers’ own words and the results of past calls.
Paste your bio and CallOpen sorts it into a profile — practice, disciplines, career stage, where you have shown (a language model does the reading; you correct it). On the map you pick the regions to look in. Your works live in your portfolio, each with its title and medium in every language you apply in, and your CV exports to PDF.
The catalogue filters by type, discipline, region, career stage, fee, deadline and award; every call shows who pays, and how well it fits your profile and why. Call Match (by waitlist) compares your works with the calls’ briefs, 30 at a time and then more, and sorts them into apply, arguable and don’t, with quotes from the brief. A call squarely on the brief is marked so; when a new comparison finds a stronger work for a call already in your tracker, it tells you.
Results of past calls: shortlists, finalists and winners, how many applied and how many got in, who sat on the jury — — calls with results so far, typical odds 1 in —. Each organiser’s page shows every call they ran, the months they usually open, and reviews from artists who took part, each checked against proof that they did.
Pick the day you will apply, and that morning an email says what is left. The application kit lists what the organiser asks for and ticks what you already have: the works from your comparison, your CV, your text. The application plan reads the organiser’s pages again, quotes every rule, turns what can disqualify you into checks, drafts your texts within the call’s limits (a language model writes the drafts; every quote is verified) and sets the steps by day. Back from the organiser’s site, CallOpen asks whether you applied.
The tracker holds every call you are after — as cards, a list, a calendar or a board. Deadline reminders come by email and the dates go to your calendar in one click. A weekly digest brings new calls for your profile; on request, a curator puts a selection together for you; in Telegram the bot shows your deadlines and a digest on demand.
After the deadline CallOpen asks how it went, on the day results are due. Your applications gather on your Path, year by year: what you sent, the outcome, the organiser’s numbers — and when the next edition opens. A call you took out of the tracker keeps a small mark that it was there.
