Photography residencies offer dedicated time, workspace, and often financial support for lens-based artists to develop new bodies of work. The best programs provide darkroom or lab access, printing facilities, mentorship from established photographers, and exhibition opportunities at the end of the residency period. CallOpen.art curates residencies specifically tagged for photography, photojournalism, and lens-based media — filtering out programs that accept only painting or sculpture. Each listing shows whether the program is fully funded, partially funded, or self-funded, and whether travel costs are included.
