Applicants must be resident in the Republic of Ireland. The award is for mid-career and established writers of prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, graphic novels, or children's fiction and poetry. Applicants must have published at least one full collection, novel or picture book with an independent, recognised publisher. Writers working exclusively as playwrights or screenwriters are not eligible. Open only to writers who have not held an Arts Council/university residency in 2026.
