Durchstarten 2027, Berlin — Low-Barrier Funding of up to €15,000 for First Arts Projects with Young People

Durchstarten is the low-barrier strand of the Berlin Projektfonds Kulturelle Bildung, run by kultur_formen, Berlin's agency for cultural education. It opens project funding to new experts of cultural education who have hardly any chance in other programmes because of barriers in applying and carrying out projects, and so have never led a funded project of their own.

Project funding with a simplified application and accounting procedure: up to €1,250 per person per month, maximum €15,000, for up to 12 months — earliest start March 2027, latest end March of the following year. Funded project leaders are accompanied in about four Durchstarten coachings (mandatory); advice and application coaching are offered beforehand, in German, English, French and Spanish.

People who lead or want to lead artistic projects with young people in Berlin and who face big barriers in other funding programmes — above all young people without funding experience, people with disabilities, people with experience of flight or migration, and people without formal training. The applicant submits the application and leads the project; most participants are aged 0–27 and are artistically active themselves; the project works with a partner such as a school or association.
