Casa de Mono is a foundation house in the 3 de Julio neighbourhood of Cali, close to public transport, markets and the city's main public library. The residency occupies the second floor: six bright rooms, two with private bathrooms, each with a desk, and shared kitchen, dining room, laundry, balconies and terrace. Though self-directed, the residency assigns an advisor who accompanies the project through conceptualisation, production and showing, and organises dérives through the city centre, visits to art spaces and meetings with local artists and cultural agents. The stay closes with an exhibition, talk, open studio or any other format the resident proposes. Six cats live in the house.

Open to artists in the widest sense — visual and performing arts, music, writing, printmaking, textiles, curatorial practice — and to cultural managers and agents whose projects align with ecological and social sustainability. Residencies run from one to three months and the time does not have to produce a finished work: planning or structuring a project counts.
