
Heritage Valuation Contest 2026 — Cemeteries, Temples and Sacred Places
The Fondo Nacional de las Artes is running the third edition of the Concurso de Valoración Patrimonial de Cementerios, Templos y Lugares Sagrados. It asks for educational, artistic and tourism initiatives that give visibility, preservation and sustainability to cemeteries, temples and sacred places across Argentina, and for critical research on that heritage. Each of the three categories has a first prize of PESOS TRES MILLONES ($3.000.000.-), a second of PESOS DOS MILLONES ($2.000.000.-) and a third of PESOS UN MILLÓN ($1.000.000.-). The board also awards the honorary prize Arq. Rafael Macchieraldo for cemetery projects, the honorary prize Ernesto Vespignani for religious architecture, and special mentions for student projects. Authors of winning projects keep the intellectual property. The FNA only keeps the right to publicise them. Carrying out a winning valorisation project is not required.

Investigadores, museólogos, historiadores, conservadores, arquitectos, gestores culturales y estudiantes mayores de 18 años, tanto argentinos como extranjeros que residan legalmente en el país. Podrán participar, de manera individual o grupal, including collectives in one of those disciplines. One entry per person in each category, and only one prize in the contest. Excluded: FNA staff, relatives of board members up to the second degree, anyone who received an FNA grant or prize in 2025, jurors of the 2026 calls, and earlier beneficiaries who did not meet their commitments.
