The Finnish Cultural Foundation (Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, SKR) is a private Finnish foundation that funds research, science and the arts through its central fund and regional funds, in one application round a year.

The foundation’s annual application round (about €44 million across central and regional funds). Working grants cover personal living costs for full-time artistic work for up to four years or part-time work for up to one year — early career (under 10 years of professional practice) €34,000 per year, mid-career €38,000 per year; expenditure grants cover project costs, tools and materials. Minimum grant €3,000; a few large grants of €100,000 or more. Specific grants in the same round include Local Culture Projects, Non-fiction Books, Musical Instrument Loans and Romani language and culture. Artists’ mobility grants are open year-round from 1 October 2026.
