Fixed grants — Emerging CA$5,000, Mid-Career CA$7,500, Established CA$15,000 (no partial grants) — for the time and materials needed to create new work in painting, drawing, printmaking, installation, sculpture, performance art, photography and electronic media: materials and production costs, studio or equipment rental, small equipment and software, artist fees for yourself or collaborators, travel needed to create the work, and childcare. Accessibility supplements are available for Deaf artists and artists with disabilities.

Professional emerging (3+ years of public presentation), mid-career (8+ years) and established (15+ years) visual artists who are Ontario residents; collaborations if all members are eligible. Full-time undergraduate or graduate students are not eligible; recipients must skip a year before reapplying, and only one grant per year across Craft, Curatorial, Media Artists Creation, Visual Artists Creation and Visual Arts Projects.
