Any nationality; US citizenship is not required. A PhD or equivalent professional experience is needed: full-time, part-time or independent practice — artists, curators, critics. For artists that usually means exhibitions at several institutions; for curators, several curated exhibitions and institutional relationships. The programme does not fund dissertation work or turning a dissertation into a first book, and there are no pre- or post-doctoral fellowships.
