The Hermann-Lenz-Stiftung, founded in 1993 by Hermann and Hanne Lenz, supports authors and literary scholars; from 2027 it offers its house for residencies together with the City of Munich’s Department of Arts and Culture.

A three-month residency (March–May 2027, the first round of a twice-yearly programme) in the former home of writer Hermann Lenz and Hanne Lenz, now the seat of the Hermann-Lenz-Stiftung: study, bedroom and bathroom, shared use of the carefully renovated original living rooms, kitchen and garden, plus a residence allowance of €2,500 per month from the City of Munich’s Department of Arts and Culture. The foundation has supported writers such as Olga Grjasnowa, Lutz Seiler and Felicitas Hoppe; Peter Handke once spent almost a year in the house as an early ‘writer in residence’.
