An artist fee (the amount is not stated in the brief), research materials on the assigned laureate, curatorial support, technical guidance on fabrication, and professional bronze casting and production of the maquette (under 10 cm high) with a hidden NFC chip. The 143 sculptures will form the first encounter in the museum's new permanent exhibition opening in December 2027 and a new one is added each year.
publicSeo.openCall.eligibility
Established and emerging artists from around the world, in sculpture, installation, design, architecture, ceramics, digital art, performance or visual arts; they need not be trained sculptors but must be able to produce a sufficiently detailed physical or digital model that fabrication partners can cast in bronze. Each artist is assigned one of the 143 Nobel Peace Prize laureates by a mostly random allocation after naming three preferred categories of peace work, and may flag laureates or topics too difficult to engage with. The cohort is chosen for artistic quality, originality, engagement with peace and diversity of perspectives.
