The residency is a private, air-conditioned apartment of about 80 m² in a 1921–23 building in Dorćol, the old quarter of Belgrade — 4.2 metre ceilings, large windows in two directions, original wooden floors, doors and windows, furniture from the 1920s, and a full kitchen for self-catering. The painting studio has easels, a stool, ample wall space, natural and artificial light and a small library. The space was renovated over a year in what the studio calls an eclectic-luxury manner, filled with original art and vintage objects from galleries and antique shops across Serbia and Europe. Exhibition opportunities, artist talks and studio visits are arranged individually — residents who would rather not show work are not required to. Financial aid covers up to 40% of the cost, most readily for residencies between November and April, and one fellowship a year covers a week in full.

Open to artists, writers, curators, creative practitioners, researchers, scholars and photographers of any nationality. An art committee reviews applications with the explicit aim of keeping disciplines, styles and national origins broad. Stays run from two weeks to six months; only one artist or artist couple is in residence at a time, and a partner or family member may come along at 50% of the rate, a pet free of charge. Applicants wanting financial aid must complete that section of the application at the time of applying.
