The Feminist Center for Creative Work in Los Angeles has run its Artist in Residence programme since 2019, giving gender-marginalized artists three months of space, money and staff support for a significant project.

Two artists are selected for three-month residencies in Winter/Spring and Fall 2028 at FCCW's space in Northeast LA, with access for planning, production and exhibition; a $7,500 stipend; a production budget for the work and accompanying programmes; dedicated staff support; professional documentation; help applying for further funding; and, when appropriate, a book with Co-Conspirator Press. Each residency ends in a public presentation. Review committee: iris yirei hu, Mashinka Firunts Hakopian and Daniela Lieja Quintanar with FCCW staff. Office hours on Fridays 23 and 30 October 2026, 3–5 pm.

Women, trans, nonbinary and other gender-marginalized artists at all career stages, with the experience to complete a project of this scope. Projects respond to the theme The World We Desire; priority to work that engages intersectional feminist themes and includes social activation and community engagement. BIPOC, LGBTQ and disabled artists and those with a deep connection to Southern California are especially encouraged. Local artists who can be in Los Angeles consistently are prioritised, as travel and housing are not covered.
