A pilot paid university residency for an Irish-language writer, run by the Arts Council and University College Cork.

A calendar-year residency in 2027 with a fee of €30,000 paid by the Arts Council in two instalments (€20,000 from the Arts Council, €10,000 from the university) and a dedicated space in the university. From January to June the writer engages with students and staff for at most four hours a week; from July the writer concentrates on their own practice. No accommodation is provided.

Mid-career and established writers resident in the Republic of Ireland with a publishing record in prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, graphic novels or young people's fiction and poetry (at least one full collection, novel or picture book from an independent recognised publisher); writers working only in drama are not eligible. Writers who held an Arts Council or any university residency in 2026 are not eligible.
