The Basil Sellers Art Prize (The Bas) returns in 2026 with over $55,000 in acquisitive awards for 2D artists nationwide, plus courier assistance and a $100 framing subsidy for finalists.

Eligibility

Open to Australian citizens 18+ whose principal residence is in Australia. 2D work only — painting, drawing, or printmaking (unique-state prints only).

Costs to the artist: Per organizer; $100 framing subsidy + courier assistance for finalists

Award

Over $55,000 in acquisitive awards — a $25,000 acquisitive prize (all finalists) and a $5,000 acquisitive prize (Eurobodalla finalists)
