The Culture Department (Referat Kunst, Kultur und Kulturbetriebe) of the Austrian state of Salzburg runs annual calls for artists with a Salzburg connection, with criteria developed with its cultural advisory board.

Three projects are selected and funded with €7,000 each for artistic projects made with and for young people over six to twelve months, ending in a public presentation and documentation. MITSAMMEN focuses on equal opportunities and cultural participation for groups with little access to the arts, linguistic, social and cultural diversity and current issues; all art forms are welcome and projects reaching Salzburg’s rural districts are preferred. Eligible costs: artist fees, travel, materials, rent, coordination staff and other costs.

Cultural institutions, artist collectives or individual artists with a Salzburg connection: born in Salzburg with a further biographical link, main residence in Salzburg for at least two years, or an artistic focus (or place of study) continuously in Salzburg for the last two years, with proof (institutions based in the city or state of Salzburg), with several years of quality artistic practice and experience in network-oriented, process-based collaboration, partnering with at least one institution from education, science or social work (schools, universities, music schools, libraries, museums, youth associations).
