Fuse 2027 — Creative Residency for Classical Musicians, Banff Centre

Fuse is Banff Centre's spring residency for classical musicians who want to widen their practice through collaborative play, movement, storytelling and performance technologies. Participants work in small interdisciplinary groups with an international faculty and share their process with peers and the public at the end of each week.

A three-week residency (19 April – 8 May 2027) with small-group interdisciplinary workshops and one-on-one mentorship from faculty including the Aga Khan Master Musicians, Nadar, Architek Percussion, Jane Mitchell (Aurora Orchestra) and members of American Modern Opera Company, 24-hour studio access and public sharings of works in progress. The Banff Centre Arts Scholarship covers tuition and part of room and meals; Canadian Indigenous artists receive a full scholarship, and named scholarships are considered automatically.

For classically trained instrumentalists (woodwind, brass, string and percussion), singers and composers who want to collaborate and explore interdisciplinary techniques; previous interdisciplinary experience is not required. Applicants must be 18+ at the time of the program start date. Domestic and international applications are welcome; international participants need a Canadian visitor visa.
